Job Summary
- The Transport Coordinator will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the Company’s logistics operations across multiple cities.
- This role is responsible for identifying, onboarding, and managing transporters and storekeepers, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of packages.
- The Transport Coordinator will work closely with Anchor Partners, delivery agents, and store keepers to ensure the company’s logistics network is functional, cost-effective, and scalable.
Job Responsibilities
Transporter and Storekeeper Onboarding & Management:
- Identify and onboard suitable transporters who meet the Company’s operational needs.
- Identify, recruit, and onboard storekeepers for parks in Lagos and other key cities.
- Aggressively expand the network of parks, park managers, and storekeepers across Nigeria’s major cities.
Pricing and Contract Negotiation:
- Negotiate competitive pricing with transporters and storekeepers to ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining a healthy profit margin.
- Secure favorable terms for long-term partnerships and ensure that agreements are mutually beneficial.
Collaboration with Anchor Partners & Delivery Agents:
- Work with the Company’s Anchor Partners and delivery agents to streamline operations and ensure smooth package movement across locations.
- Ensure alignment between transporters, agents, and storekeepers to guarantee operational efficiency.
Package Loading & Shipment Management:
- Supervise the loading of packages into vans at the Fulfillment Centers and parks, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Monitor shipments to ensure they are safely delivered to the final recipient in the destination city.
Delivery Tracking & Proof of Delivery:
- Ensure transporters and agents provide proof of delivery for every completed shipment.
- Monitor and track the status of deliveries using Dellyman’s tracking systems, ensuring timely communication of updates.
Issue Resolution & Communication:
- Act as the first point of contact for transporters regarding issues or challenges encountered during deliveries.
- Ensure timely notification of the company regarding the status of deliveries and any operational issues that arise.
Performance Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Develop and implement a rating and ranking system for transporters based on performance metrics such as delivery timeliness, condition of packages, and overall efficiency.
- Monitor the performance of transporters and ensure that only those who meet the Company’s standards are retained.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience and knowledge of Logistics / Transport Operations / Management.
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Interstate Operations.
Salary
N150,000 Monthly.
